Where to eat in Paris?

Paris offers a plethora of places to eat for the hungry traveller whether you are willing to splash out or on a tight budget, here's a few timeless favourites to wet your appetite!

In the heart of the city is the highly celebrated Le Meurice; a beautiful historic hotel housing inventive cooking from Chef Yannick Alléno. Expect to spend around €200 for extravagant meals such as spit-roasted pigeon marinated in red wine with cabbage and apple sauce and quality rare produce from the Ile de France.

For a 21st-century take on French haute cuisine at the sought-after L'Astrance you can look forward to Chef Pascal Barbot's highly imaginative signature dishes of fresh fruit, vegetables and scrumptious seafood for around €80 for the lunch menu or €200 for dinner. 

 

One of the few remaining independent brasseries retaining its du gueule (real character) and offering a perfect place to people spot with delicious classic French food is Le Stella. The average meal will cost you a modest €45; real value for money.

If you fancy something a little different, don't let Yam'Tcha pass you by. Depending on her daily shop, Chef Adeline Grattard, (one of the few female chefs in Paris) creates unique dishes with an Asian twist which have proved extremely popular. Prix-fixe menus range from  €50 and €85 and it is well worth a visit.

For those who are on a tighter budget, the legendary and atmospheric Chartier offers an incredibly friendly service and bargain priced three course classic meals for around $20-$30 which cannot be missed. 

Close to the Centre Georges Pompidou is the famous Au Duc de Montmorency owned by the celebrated Chef Laurent Delcros who brings his years of cooking secrets to you for next to nothing. Enjoy a set menu including wine for about $15.

Last but certainly not least, Le Bistrot d'Andre is one of Paris' premier places offering traditional French cuisine and classic brasserie ambiance. Dishes and set menus range from $12 to $30 and will certainly satisfy your taste buds.
